Phuan Thai Meng (b. 1974, Batu Pahat, Johor) has a Diploma from the Malaysian Institute of Art. His work explores the sociopolitical conditions of the national landscape through projects on rapid urbanisation, infrastructure development and human living conditions. Through wit and humour his painting and installation practice has become a running commentary on the state of the country and the absurdities of Malaysian politics.

Phuan has also participated in numerous group shows in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Japan and Europe, and his work has been collected by the Singapore Art Museum and The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, Australia.
